A Note on Retreats vs. Initiation

These retreats are not initiations. A true Bwiti Fang initiation can only take place in the ancestral village in Gabon, under the conditions required by the tradition. Retreats outside Gabon are still powerful, meaningful ceremonies — offering connection to the Bwiti tradition for those who cannot travel to the village. They are based on Bwiti Fang tradition and include ceremonies with sacred plant medicine.
